Coinciding with a major exhibition on Celts at the National Museum of Scotland, this talk will consider the many different things which get called Celtic art. It will consider what these different “Celtic arts” say about connections and differences across Europe, and consider the role of decoration in making powerful objects and creating powerful ideas.
