Sjt. D Watters R Highrs (Auchterarder) (LG 30 Oct 1918). For conspicuous gallantry when his party was held up by enemy machine gun fire. Crawling out to a flank he shot several of the team and then captured the gun single-handed. This was a magnificent act of courage and prompt initiative; and all through operations he set a splendid example of coolness and determination to his men.
