Mary Anderson, in conclusin stated that her Master, Robert Westwater at Pitkennie, in whose service she had been for six years, was ready to give her a character if required.'

Details: 'Compeared Widow Francis Beattie mentioned in a Former Minute, who being solemnly exhorted to tell the truth, and asked, whether she adhered to her former declaration, ''that she and her late Husband Francis Beattie resided three years continuously in the Parish of Burntisland preceding Martinmas 1829, when they left it?'' Compeared James Paterson and his Daughter Christian, and having produced an Extract from The Kirk Session of Aberdour, setting forth that the said Christian Paterson had compeared before them and declared that she had brought forth a child on the 17th November last and that it was begotten in the Parish of Dalgety. The Session considering that James Paterson and his family had resided a considerable time in the Parish of Dalgety, without bringing a Certificate to it of his character, and never attending divine ordinances in the Parish during his stay in it, and as J. Paterson's family are now living in the Parish of Aberdour, where the Kirk Session of Dalgety have no opportunity of observing the behaviour of C. Paterson, they determine to send her back to Aberdour parish, and order her to attend the Church there for six Sabbaths at least, and upon her producing a Certificate that she has so done, and given signs of sincere repentance, the Kirk Session of Dalgety may then take her upon discipline - and they appoint Mr Inglis to give her a copy of this minute when called for''...(signed) And[re]w Inglis Sess[io]n Cl[er]k. The Kirk Session of Aberdour having considered as an answer to their Minute of date 5th February Current, repecting Christian Paterson, unanimously agree, that their Clerk shall give James Paterson Extracts of this Session's proceedings anent the case of his Daughter Christian, and recommend to him to lay the said proceedings before the Presbytery of Dunfermline at their meeting on the last Wednesday of March next when, or when and where they may meet with a Petition to the Presbytery, that they will be pleased to consider the same, and to give deliverance upon them and instruct him how to proceed in obtaining Christian privileges for his Daughter.'

In the meantime the Moderator is authorized to remind Alex[ande]r Paton of his irregularity in respect of his absenting himself from his Parish church, and to exhort him to repentenance for the sin of which he has now declared himself guilty.'
