Details: 'They [Session] took into their consideration the manner in which discipline had been conducted in this Parish & being of opinion that the method of rebuking persons guilty of the sin of uncleanness before the Congregation is not the best method in the present circumstances for promoting the reformation of the offender and considering further that these public rebukes are offensive to many pious & worthy members of the Congregation and are now laid aside in this quarter of the Church. The Session are therefore of opinion that it would be more for edification that these should be given before the Kirk Session which is an open court and at which any of the Parishioners who think they can be edified by witnessing them have it in their power to attend. And the Session therefore did and hereby do approve of these Sessional rebukes instead of appearances before the Congregation accordingly. Session closed with Prayer,
